Night fishing

The equipment and the safety offered by the 48ft Cabin allows safe sailing at night. The large central cabin and the large 14.5m x 5m deck of the catamaran have been arranged to allow groups of more than 8 fishermen to jig without discomfort. The option to fish at night breaks up the routine of the stay, and also immerses its participants in a unique atmosphere.

A unique atmosphere

Slow and muffled, nocturnal navigation has something magical about it; the bio-luminescent phytoplankton disturbed by the movements of our presence appear with their green light in the wake of the braids which sink into the water following the jigs. They barely compete with the sky… which, without a hint of light pollution, reaches rare levels of clarity and offers great pleasure for astronomy enthusiasts, and the beauty of landscapes that are often banished from our urban lives.

A fishing trip of a lifetime

The Night Fishing option begins… in the morning! The fishermen who take part in the program join their usual crews and boats at 7:00 a.m., which is 30 minutes earlier than on a typical day.

After a morning like any other, the boats return at 12:30 p.m. for lunch at the Radama Islands Resort restaurant and relax until 3:45 p.m. During this time, the equipment from the various participating boats will be transferred on board the catamaran. 4:00 p.m. Departure with the fishermen and their crews, as well as a barman who will provide service on board. The end of the day, until sunset, will usually be dedicated to throwing, the evening popper shot can be prolific. When the sun crosses the horizon line, the behaviour of the fish can change suddenly, so jig and bait fishing are used along the drop offs. An aperitif dinner is organised on the deck and in the cabin, while schools of bigeye trevally are spread over the entire water column, and deep-sea predators slowly come up to hunt, and sometimes… the music lights up!

Twilight

The very special atmosphere of a night at sea, in a friendly context, can lead some fishermen to swap their jigging rod for a cocktail. If a touch, fight or a nice fish on the boat is enough to get everyone back to fishing, the atmosphere on board brings an exquisite touch to the role of simple spectator… The Cabin 48 will return to Radama Islands Resort beach at 8:30 p.m.
